Shortly after his birth, Jerry E. Grubb, Jr. was unknowingly renamed by his older brother. In trying to call him his little brother, he gave his little "Bubba" a nickname that has stuck with him ever since. And, with the exception of his 8-1/2 years in the U.S. Navy, including action in Operation Desert Storm, Captain Bubba has been fishing the marshes of Southeastern Louisiana since he was able to hold a cane pole. |

He was introduced to light tackle flats fishing by the legendary Captain Kirby LaCour of Red Chaser Charters in the fall of 2000 and has been hooked ever since. Captain Kirby calls him a natural at poling a shallow draft boat and finding redfish. Whenever possible, they still go fishing together. Well, mostly Bubba poles Kirby around. (It's a payback thing.) But you'd be surprised how much wisdom you can soak up while fishing with a master. |

Accolades "I can' tell you enough how much I enjoyed my fishing trip. I am so glad that I hooked up with a guide that new what he was doing and had a great personality to go with it. We joked, laughed, caught nice fish and had an all around great time. It will probably be a couple of years before I get back, but when I do I will definitely be calling you to book a trip. Remember now that you have already set the standards so I know what to expect." Captain James Ormond, Greenville, N.C Fire Department |
